DATES: August 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 2008.

GENERAL INFORMATION:  The course will entail four (4)days at the famous Ben Avery Shooting Facility on the north side of Phoenix, AZ, followed by three (3) days in the field near Prescott, AZ.  During the four days at Ben Avery, single and multiple targets of every type, size and shape will be engaged at ranges from 50 to a full 1000 yards, often with challenging time-pressure.  It is thus highly recommended that each student has complete range calibration data for his rifle to at least 700 yards prior to the class.  Obtaining additional data for 800, 900 and 1000 yards is part of the course curriculum, but the shooting drills at 50-700 yards will be such that there will be little time for obtaining range calibration data once the class has started.

High-quality tactical precision rifles, ammunition, ghillie suits, laser rangefinders, binoculars and radios are available from ASAA if needed.  However, if the student is in need of these, it is necessary that he make arrangements to be available to obtain range calibration data two full days in advance.  Please contact Chuck at ASAA as quickly as possible to discuss full details and equipment rental prices since availability is on a first-come, first-served basis.

SPECIFIC DATA: Targets at odd angles, partial targets, multiple targets, small targets, obscure targets, hostage situations, high speed target engagements, consistent accuracy drills, know your limitations drills, and graphic targets in different body configurations are all part of the course curriculum.  During the field phase (near Prescott, AZ), the art of camouflage, stalking, tactical movement, building a "hide", as well as planning and executing actual precision rifle missions (with special emphasis on longer range shots) make for an exciting and enjoyable, yet highly instructive course.

STUDENT LIMIT:   12 students

PRICE STRUCTURE:  See introduction at top of page.

DATES:  September 16, 17, 18, 19, 2008.

GENERAL INFORMATION:  This is a special advanced course, which takes the art and science of combat handgunning to an entirely new level.  High speed presentations, target engagements and weapon-handling are standard fare in this entirely new and challenging class, as the student engages a wide variety of target types, styles, shapes and sizes.

All four (4) days of the course will be at the Ben Avery Shooting Facility, located on the north side of Phoenix, AZ.

While some standard range work is involved, emphasis is placed on dealing with ever-more-difficult tactical scenarios involving an array of realistic graphic targets.  Shooting from, and around motor vehicles is also emphasized, as is proper methodology of dismounting from the vehicle itself.  Use of a vehicle as cover is also discussed in detail with appropriate firing drills to reinforce the concepts discussed.

In addition, shooting from cover at distances from 15 to a full 100-meters is also emphasized, as are concealed carry presentations and extreme close-quarters engagements, with high-speed tactical movement.

Handguns, holsters, spare magazines and carriers, as well as ammunition, are available from ASAA if needed.
However, it is recommended that any student who avails himself of this service contact Chuck as soon as possible to discuss full details and prices, since availability is on a first-come, first-served basis.

SPECIFIC DATA:  While much of the curriculum is discussed in the General Information section above, there will also be great emphasis on targets at odd angles, oddly shaped targets, targets partially concealed behind cover, tactical movement, reloading on the move, shooting in a crowd, hostage situations, and non-typical situations.

STUDENT LIMIT: 16 students

PRICE STRUCTURE:  See introduction at top of page.
